Best Night Markets To Visit In Bangkok

Jump To a Topic

One thing we can guarantee to all our Thai customers is that you will never run out of things to do in Bangkok.
In addition to a range of fascinating historical monuments, cultural attractions, first-class hotels and world-class spas, Bangkok is also a shopping and dining paradise.
While the city’s shopping malls are cool and sanitary, here at UTC we especially love Bangkok’s popular night markets. These markets are located throughout the city and offer a variety of stalls, delicious food, live music and entertainment – perfect for the entire evening!
Here’s our guide to the best night markets in Bangkok!

Asiatique the Riverfont:

Asiatique, Bangkok, Thailand

As its name suggests, Asiatique Riverside Hotel is located on the banks of the Chao Phraya River: south of the city center and opposite the superb Anantara Riverside Resort. This modern market is like an open-air mall with shops, boutiques, cafes and restaurants representing international and local brands. Entertainment also plays an important role, with puppet theatres, cabaret shows and a giant Ferris wheel.

Chatuchak Weekend Market

Chatuchak Market
The largest and most famous night market in Bangkok, Chatuchak Night Market, also known as Jatujak or simply “JJ”, has 15,000 stalls and will receive approximately 200,000 visitors every weekend. The market is open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday and features a variety of stalls selling antiques, cosmetics, food, drink, furniture, clothing, books and even pets.

Train Night Market Srinagarindra:

SRT Class 501 (504 J)

Bangkok’s famous Talad Rot Fai (Train Night Market) is located in three different locations around the city. The largest and oldest one is located in Srinakarin district, opposite Seacon Square shopping mall. The semi-open market is more like a “meeting point” with many small restaurants, bars and live music. Located far east of central Bangkok, Rot Fai Srinakarin is a small hike more suited to young Bangkokians than tourists.
Train Night Market Ratchada
Another option closer to central Bangkok is Ratchada’s sister train market, which is smaller but just as lively. There is a metro station opposite and you can get here in under an hour from any city center hotel. This open-air market has the same dining options, as well as plenty of stalls and squares selling vintage clothing, antiques, bric-a-brac, toys and records.

Patpong Night Market:

Bangkok, Thailand

Located in Bangkok’s most legendary run-down neighborhood, Patpong is not for the faint of heart, but it’s fun! The market, located next to Patpong’s famous bars and clubs, sells mostly cheap souvenirs and fake branded goods. It is just a short walk from the Sala Daeng MRT station in the heart of the modern Silom district, providing easy access to all hotels in Silom, Sathorn or Sukhumvit areas.

Khao San Road:

The legendary Khao San backpacker colony is a vibrant place day and night. Packed with budget accommodation, bars, tourist shops, tattoo parlors and tailors, it’s an interesting palace worth wandering in and out of – especially after dark. Khao San is also a great place to eat, with roadside food stalls serving hearty and affordable dishes such as Pad Thai, spring rolls, kebabs, Thai desserts and fresh fruit.
Yaowarat Road Night Market
Speaking of food, the best area in Bangkok for pure gastronomic pleasure is undoubtedly Yaowarat Road: Bangkok’s Chinatown. In this market, the focus is on filling your stomach 100%. Bangkok’s Chinese community is well represented, but you can also find dishes from Thai and Southeast Asian flavors. Enjoy oyster omelets, Thai toast, grilled seafood, velvet noodle soup, curries, dim sum and super sweet desserts.

ArtBox Bangkok:

Opened in the summer of 2019, ArtBox brings a trendy new approach to Bangkok’s night market scene: multiple shipping containers housing a variety of stalls and international restaurants. The latest location, following several locations in the city, is located opposite BTS Nana.

Talad Neon:

Talad Neon translates to “Neon Market” and its brightly lit signs can be seen throughout the surrounding Pratunam area, making it hard to miss. It has more of a flea market vibe, with tons of kitschy homewares and vintage fashion. Regular live music, shipping containers and unique lighting create a youthful atmosphere.

Chang Chui Plane Market:

Our final stop is Chang Chui, Bangkok’s most charming night market. The “Airplane Market” has all the usual stalls and restaurants, as well as numerous sculptures and modern art installations. The centerpiece of the market is a retired Lockheed L-1011 Tristar, complete with slides, swings and a live performance stage! Chang Chui translates to “Messy Craftsman”, which is very apt for this “creative park” located in Chao Phraya Province, Thonburi District.
